Planning a surprise proposal? I’ve helped many clients pull off the perfect moment from choosing the right location to making sure everything stays discreet until the big “yes.”
I’ll blend into the background and quietly capture the moment as it naturally unfolds. This service is available for a limited number of clients each season, allowing me to handle every detail with care so you can focus on the moment itself.

I position myself at the location ahead of your arrival, far enough away to be invisible, close enough to capture everything.
The moment you go down on one knee, the expression before they realise what is happening, the yes, the embrace, all of it documented without interruption, without staging, and without either of you knowing exactly where I was standing.
Proposal Location Planning
Before the day, we talk through your travel schedule, where you are staying, and what your partner expects the afternoon to be.
I select the location based on the date, the tides, the light, and the level of privacy you want. You receive clear instructions with photos and video so that on the day you are thinking about one thing only: the question.
Post-Proposal Couple Session
Once the proposal is done, we move directly into a short couple session.
The nerves are gone, the joy is genuine, and we move naturally into your first photographs as an engaged couple. You’ll receive a full gallery to choose from within 72 hours, or within 48 hours with The Moment and The Story.

Hi, I’m Massimo
Your Proposal Photographer
A surprise proposal happens once. There is the anticipation before it, the reaction when your partner realises what is happening, and everything that follows after the yes. My job is to capture those moments without interrupting them.
That’s why I keep the process discreet and carefully planned. Before the day, we work through the location, timing, route, and details so that when the moment arrives, you can focus entirely on your partner while I capture everything naturally from a distance.
I’m based between Lagos and Sagres and photograph proposals across the Algarve and Portugal’s West Coast. I know how light, privacy, tides, access, and crowds can affect a proposal location, and I use that experience to help you plan the moment.
