Where I Shoot: Algarve Family Photography Locations
I cover the full western Algarve coast, from Sagres in the west to Faro in the east. Here's what each area offers:
West — Sagres & Costa Vicentina
The wildest scenery on the coast. Martinhal beach is ideal for families with young children — calm water, flat sand, and open space. The Sagres cliffs and Fortaleza offer dramatic backdrops for golden hour. If you're staying at Martinhal Sagres Resort, I work regularly in the area and can meet you on-site.
Central — Lagos, Luz & Portimão
The most-requested area. Ponta da Piedade in Lagos is iconic — golden limestone arches and sea caves at sunset. Meia Praia works beautifully for larger groups and relaxed beach sessions. Praia da Luz and Praia Dona Ana are great for couples and smaller families. For guests staying around Carvoeiro, Ferragudo, or Portimão, this is your zone.
East — Albufeira, Falésia, Vilamoura & Faro
Falésia is one of the most photogenic beaches in Portugal — the rust-red cliffs and long sandy stretch make every shot look cinematic. I regularly photograph families staying at Falésia-area hotels, Vilamoura, Quinta do Lago, and Vale do Lobo. Faro is the furthest east I travel.
